Complex relationship between life expectancy and income in the US

One of the conclusions by a study published in JAMA is that in the US population higher income is associated with greater life expectancy.

The age group of the population studied ranged from 40 to 76 with a mean of 53. Median household earnings per individual per year was $61175

The gap between richest 1% and poorest 1% was 14.6 years
